Today again the class have chosen the topic of the blog.
And the topic is...
Who's your favorite artist?
Well, indeed this is a difficult question, but an interesting one.
If I start to think about it, many artist come to my mind, but specially visual artist like Monet, Morisot, Manet, and yes, they all belong to the artistic movement known as impressionism, ... I really like that movement, maybe is my favorite, so choose one artist is just a big problem for me right now, the solution is choose other type of art!
And I'm gonna choose...
Mark Ryden, born on 1963, he is an american artist, he is alive and he is a crazy painter.
The kind of art that he does is identified by surrealism or lowbrow.
Their paintings themes are sometimes really ironic, sensual, dark and macabre and other times just imagination apparently, his painting most of the time are kids and I know, is creepy.
My favorite piece of art of this artist is "Incarnation"
Maybe you just remember Lady Gaga meet dress! And he has many colaborations with pop's artist, for example... I know he did the disc cover of "DANGEROUS" of Michael Jackson and other for "4 Non Blondes" and many others music artist.
I really like this artist although some people says that he is very weird, some kind of rumor says that he doesn't eat anything that is not black.
In my personal development I really don't use his work as a referent, but maybe just because I don't have that freedom on my studio classes.

ResponderBorrarI really liked his style! And the comment on the black food reminded me of like a trend that makes every food black: ice creams, hamburgers, waffles... is pretty insane!
