It's Wednesday, so it is a blog day!
Today I have to write about what I would change in my study programme and to start with I have to say that I'm studying plastic arts in the "Universidad de Chile" since 2016, it is my second year and I don't know how will it be the next subjects in the career, so I just can talk about the last year and the current year.
First of all, my first impression of the faculty was really poorly, thinking about the infrastructure and the maintenance staff, because almost all the faculty is in really bad conditions, dirty and with tons of garbage and dust in every part!
For that reason, if I would change something, the first thing of all would be that, and for fighting the dirtiness I would put trashcans all over the faculty and also repairing room classes always before the exams, two times in a year, (Just in the rooms that are in need for that). For example, my studio classes have huge leaks into the roof and all the walls are dirty and with holes.
All we know that it is our fault (assembly and other things) but if we are studying art, probably the system has to be different from other departments.
Second, in my experience the teaching methods have problems and for that reason I think the first year has to change a little... or a lot, because some teachers assume that you know everything, and there is no introduction for any subject, so this would be my second change: Give it a little introduction to the students about every subject (And every teacher, yes, all we know that the good or the bad stuff, changes depends on the teacher... so, it would be good having an introduction) and make the subject "Visual Language" three subjects, "Volume" "Visual Thoughts" and "Color" and not just one.
Finally, I would change the workload, and again that is depending on the teacher or the workshop class, so this is difficult to explain or justify, but in the theoretical classes maybe this is more possible or maybe I would change the messed timetable of this career, teachers just attach works or exams or anything without an agreement with the other teachers or the programme.

I know that some things are in process to change, but the changes are slow and maybe we will not have the opportunity of see those changes, but we have to think in the next generations (?)

Hi Mila ! I agree with your offer of changes. The programme and the way wich teachers put exams or works, could be more coordinated, so, we could be a best work and give more of our selves.
